Getting involved in activities besides studies at schools and colleges, has become a constant today. Students can meet new people with whom they share interests. This helps improve social skills as a result. Extracurricular activities also help students in expanding their social networks. This is greatly beneficial for finding career opportunities after graduation. Besides, they help provide a much-required break from the otherwise monotonous educational curriculum. This helps in maintaining students’ mental health. Extracurricular activities are also well known for boosting self-esteem. Nearly all universities and organisations today specifically look for the mention of such activities on a candidates’ resume.

Extracurricular activities are embedded deep into the cultures at top universities like Northeastern University. The university hosts a number of societies responsible for carrying out such activities. These societies are centred around various fields such as art, sports, mental health, among several others.

Some of the most popular societies at Northeastern University include:

Art Blanche- It is an art club at the university that provides art enthusiasts with unlimited options to express their creativity. The focus is to unite everyone interested in creating art and arrange a place where students can express themselves through any fine art.

Beta Beta Beta- It is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. The organisation offers resources for students to further their paths in the many biological fields.

Black and Red Public Relations- This society offers a fresh perspective in promoting and building connections through market research, social media, event planning and promotion.

Eon Dance Troupe- As the name suggests, it is a dance society that focuses on expressing culture through classical, ethnic, and fusion dances.

Northeastern University League of Legends- This society is dedicated to students who play League of Legends (LoL), the most-played video game in the world.

Besides these, they have a photography club, sports teams for different sports, a robotics club, and more.
